2003 honda accord transmission filter12/27/2023 Would that code be 'A3' or 'B3?' Is that what I should look for? 50,000 miles is approx. Maintenance Minder shows 80% oil life and I reset it myself - the mechanic I go to doesn't touch it - leaves it for me.Ĭlick to expand.Yes, good point. Thoughts? My brother and I have been talking about doing our own fluid changes. It sounds like it's not urgent to do another AT fluid change - but, I think it should be done this summer, right? I think it should be next month at the latest. I do well under 10,000km a year - under 6000 miles. I go for a drive outside the city to the nearest town and back again. I do mostly city driving and not a lot - I try to do some highway driving - a few times a month. I would like to get brand new fluid in the car at some point. I also did a fluid change in Feb 2023 - oil change - I think the AT fluid was changed, too - I had used older AT fluid bottles - and would have used those. Taking a pic with my phone is helpful but it doesn't indicate which service was done - unless I note it somewhere. I am going to write down the next drain and fill - mileage when it was done etc. I was told to write these things down and I think I will - I was taking pics of the odometer but I only found one pic so far.Ĭlick to expand.I think it was done last year - July 2022 - I posted here asking about the crush washers. Edit: the last time I did a D & F at my mechanic's - he mentioned the 'current' (or old) fluid looked really good - I might have done it early - but, I was glad it wasn't dirty or bad - better to do it early than late or look at bad fluid coming out, right? I think the last time I did it was last year. I was wondering if I should do a D & F - I used older tanny fluid I bought online (buy and sell site) - thoughts? My MM oil life shows 80% - and so far - at 5,500 km - I should change it at 8,000 km? - Honda recommends '7,500 to 10,000 miles' (= avg 12,000 km - I would say 10K to be safe). asking the dealership) will tell you that you don't need to replace the filter. It was a long time ago, I read about Magnefine filters (being better - or an upgrade over OEM)? I read (somewhere) that Honda (i.e. When to do drain and fills - what mileage (prefer kms but I can calculate) - but, should you change the filter? I understood - that you didn't need to change it. I guess I'm confused - still - can anyone summarize?: Since I had to remove the top of the air filter housing for access, I will be replacing the ATF filter at the same time I replace it 30K mile intervals. The next time I replace the filter, the job will be soooooooo much easier! The clamps which hold the line on each side of the filter are close enough to it to hold it secure. I replaced the factory clamps with these:Ī: AAS 3/8" Fuel Injection Hose Clamps FI8 (Pack of 10) 9/16" - 5/8" Dia: AutomotiveĪnd then I installed the Magnefine filter where the original filter was (with the flow arrow pointing toward the firewall) and I did not need the band clamp to hold it in place. It was harder than I thought because it was extremely hard to remove the factory clamps. Bottom line is that the job was harder AND easier than I thought in replacing the original filter with a Magnefine filter.
